Expectations of MAPAS students
MAPAS recruits Māori and Pacific students who will contribute to the development
of healthy Māori and Pacific communities in Aotearoa New Zealand and in the
Pacific. In providing this pathway, there are certain expectations we set of
MAPAS students to help them succeed. These include the requirement to:
- Attend MAPAS “Freshers” wānanga prior to Semester One (mid February).
- Attend classes and complete required assignments.
- Attend MAPAS tutorials.
- Contribute to strengthening MAPAS by attending MAPAS events.
- Notify MAPAS support early if you require academic or other assistance.
- Support and mentor other Māori and Pacific students to be high achievers.
- Take part in all MAPAS activities (meetings, tutorials, excursions, lunches etc).
- Respond to any MAPAS meeting requests between co-ordinators or academic staff.
