During enrolment the 9am lecture stream is normally favoured by students. This can
cause problems for us and we may have to correct the imbalance by moving
students
from one lecture stream to the other.
We have had to do this in previous years.
Before moving each student we checked to make sure it did not create
a timetable clash. The move was not optional, it was compulsory, and completed by us
without consultation. We hope not to have to do it again. It violates the principle
of free choice of classes on Student Services Online, and also the principle that those who enrol
early should benefit from the widest choice of classes. However, in case we need to use this strategy in 2012,
you should know that the co-ordinator reserves
the right to change your lecture and/or lab class if it becomes necessary.
