In 2012, the number of students wishing to attend this course will exceed the places available. The information on this page is to inform you about our enrolment policy and to help you enrol smoothly.

Course guide

The MEDSCI 142 course guide contains all lecture and laboratory notes required for this course. Course guides will be available for collection during the week prior to the commencement of the second semester, 2012. Information about collecting guides will be e-mailed to enrolled students at this time.

Textbook

The prescribed text is Tortora & Derrickson "Principles of Anatomy and Physiology" 13th edition. Lecturers assume that all students will have access to a copy. It is a good text and will be useful in later years of all biomedical courses (this text is also used in the 1st semester course, BIOSCI 107). Where a particular topic is well covered in the text, then only brief notes will be provided in the Course Guide. Information in the text and course guide will not be duplicated on Cecil. Page references in the Guide will be to the 13th edition, but students who buy an earlier edition second-hand will find it quite satisfactory.
