The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences Research Office acts to coordinate
all studentships and advertises the projects. It also processes applications for
studentships for which it is responsible.
Timeline for
Summer Research Scholarships: Summer Studentships
- July - Staff are requested to submit projects for summer studentships. The project outline
is to
be entered on the Summer Studentship site by 18 July. These will be assessed for appropriateness
as student research training projects.
Submit projects
- A clinical audit is not hypothesis-driven research. If you have an audit project you wish to be undertaken by a student, you may advertise
through this scheme, but the audit will not be funded from the sources we have available.
Please contact the relevant departmental / clinical managers for alternative funding
for audit.
- From 18 July 2011 - All projects will be available on the web for students to view.
- Students, with their academic record and CV, will contact potential supervisors. Supervisors
select one student per project and agree to support the student in their
applications to funding agencies for studentship and ethical approval (if necessary).
- The student completes the applications form and submit to faculty's Research Office
by 23 August.
- Faculty panels will rank applications and assign the funding for which we are responsible.
All applicants will be notified of the results in October.
- It is the responsibility of the supervisor to start the ethics application procedure
(if necessary) on behalf of student. If you have any problems, please contact:
