All summer students must submit a final research report together with a
supporting letter from your supervisor. Copies will be sent to the appropriate
funding agencies. The final report is necessary to receive your final payment.

Prizes
All summer studentship reports that are recommended for a Wallath Prize by
supervisors will enter a competition for the best report in Biomedical, Clinical
or Public Health Research. Committees of staff from these research areas will
decide the best report within each category and award the Wallath Prize of $500.
The author of each satisfactorily completed report will receive a certificate
confirming the award of the scholarship and the satisfactory completion of the
studentship. The scoring system for the Wallath Prize is listed below.

Layout of report (2 copies, single-sided and stapled)
1. The first page must list :
- title of project carried out
- name of student
- supervisor
- Department where research was carried out
- funding body
- discipline (Biomedical, Clinical or Public Health)
- Sponsor
2. Page 2 should be a brief statement by the student on how the studentship has
furthered your career development.
3. Page 3 – summary of research and its significance to health, suitable for
general readership, eg. press release.
4. Page 4 – an abstract of the research of not more than 250 words
5. The rest of the report should cover aims, methods and results
6. The text itself should be brief (no more than 4 A4 pages, 12 point type)
7. Allow an extra one page limit for tables, diagrams etc
8. Allow an extra one page limit for references (no more than 10 pages in total
for whole report)
9. The report should read easily and be informative for fellow students

Supervisor's letter
Your report must be accompanied by a covering letter from your supervisor,
stating their views on the research you have performed, and whether the report
is recommended for a Wallath Prize.
