This specialisation within the Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences is designed for both science and pharmacy graduates who wish to develop and enhance their knowledge and skill in the development and introduction of new pharmaceutical products. The
postgraduate certificate addresses techniques employed within pharmaceutical science and the formulation of pharmaceutical products and is suitable for graduates who are engaged, or wish to become engaged, in these key activities. The
postgraduate diploma extends this coverage into the areas of the quality assurance of pharmaceutical products and the regulatory processes that determine the entry of new medicines to the market. Students completing the
postgraduate diploma with at least a B average may proceed to the Master of Health Sciences by completion of a thesis in an area of pharmaceutical science.
Although the courses are categorised as taught courses there is considerable emphasis on guided independent learning and self-motivated study together with shared learning in small tutorial groups. Courses in this subject area are offered in a
