The School of Population Health sections of General Practice and Social and Community
Health offer a range of courses, enabling students to tailor a programme with a
mental health focus to suit their personal interests.
The programme caters for graduates with health sciences, psychology, social work and other relevant undergraduate degrees as well as healthcare professionals already working in primary healthcare, community mental health, Māori health, Pacific health and health promotion contexts.
The following courses may be taken towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Health
Sciences in the specialisation Mental Health. Note that two of these courses
require students to be working clinically with clients in a primary health
setting - students will need to apply for a concession to enrol in POPLPRAC 702 and POPLPRAC 754.
Courses are offered at the School of Population Health
at Tamaki Campus in a Flexible learning format (four days over a semester).
