Courses in this area will appeal to people who have experience in health services
and wish to further their academic achievement. The courses are principally
aimed at practicing healthcare professionals. This includes health practitioners
(eg, clinicians, nurses), health service managers, administrators and policy analysts.
Students will gain from an understanding of the factors which influence the funding and provision of health services, the skills associated with managing health services and the social, cultural, political and economic issues which influence health services and health policy. Students will also acquire the skills to apply theoretical concepts to practical problems and to critically analyse the way in which health services are funded and organised.
