Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences Health Management

Courses in health management are aimed at health professionals and managers, and seek to extend and develop their capacity to manage health services. The courses may be taken towards a health sciences programme in the School of Population Health, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, or a business programme in the Graduate School of Enterprise, Faculty of Business and Economics.

Graduate School of Enterprise pathway

Students must complete a 120 point Postgraduate Diploma in Business in Health Management or an equivalent qualification before they can apply for the Master of Health Management programme. This 120 point masters programme is an interfaculty degree offered by the School of Population Health in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and the Graduate School of Enterprise in the Faculty of Business and Economics.

School of Population Health pathways

Students wishing to take health management related masters level courses towards a postgraduate certificate without proceeding to a diploma or masters may take these courses towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences specialising in Health Sciences.

Courses in health management may be taken towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health which is the pathway to a Master of Public Health.

For those students wishing to gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health or a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences focusing on Health Services, there are several suggested pathways.

Courses may be taken towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences specialising in Health Informatics, which may also lead to entry to the Master of Health Management if the student has management experience in the health sector.
