The faculty offers multi-disciplinary postgraduate programmes in clinical education
to provide
the opportunity for clinical teachers to become excellent educators and researchers
in this field. The programmes are of particular relevance to doctors involved in
delivering medical undergraduate or specialist training programmes, clinical nurse
educators, and other health professionals with a role in education.
The programmes will offer a range of
clinical education courses on topics including the core principles
of educational theory, curriculum planning, clinical teaching, simulation, e-learning,
evaluation and assessment and current trends in clinical education. Opportunities
will be provided for students to undertake research projects in their area of interest.
The programmes will be available in a
flexible learning format, however there will
be a requirement for attendance at a two-day workshop for some courses. The programmes
aim to have a high degree of relevance to workplace practice and therefore course
assignments will be work based.
