Alcohol and Drug Studies
Postgraduate study in the area of alcohol and drug studies is available for those working professionally in alcohol and drug or mental health settings, and also for other interested professionals who wish to broaden their knowledge base of drug and alcohol issues in the community.
A limited number of field placements can be arranged for students wishing to include POPLPRAC 708 in their study programme, but who are not currently working in alcohol and drug or mental health settings.
A limited number of fully funded places (funded by Te Pou) are also available for applicants who meet certain
criteria. Please submit an Expression of Interest with full details.
The programme specialisation in Alcohol and Drug Studies is a recognised pathway for health professionals wishing to receive accreditation with DAPAANZ (Drug and Alcohol Practitioners Association of Aotearoa – New Zealand). Students in non-clinical roles may take a number of these courses towards generic programmes in Health Science, Maori Health, Medical Science and Public Health.
Courses in this subject area are offered in a flexible learning format (one day a month, four times over the semester) at the School of Population Health at Tamaki Campus.
