The Postgraduate
Diploma in Health Psychology (PGDipHealthPsych) aims to train students in the skills that are
necessary for them to be able to function as clinical health psychologists working
directly with patient populations and the public. Graduates will have a sound knowledge
of the social and psychological aspects of health problems and the application of
suitable psychological interventions in health settings. A related goal is to provide
a route to registered psychologist status for students holding a MSc in Health Psychology.
Eligibility
Students must have completed a
masters degree in health psychology
(or its equivalent) to be eligible for entry. Please note that entry into
this programme is competitive.
Content
The courses will be available
in a learning format of weekly lectures.
This programme is offered by the School
of Medicine.
Students are required to enrol in, and complete, the following courses:
- HLTHPSYC 742 - Professional Practice in Health Psychology (30 Points)
- HLTHPSYC 745 - Practicum in Health Psychology (90 points)
