The Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health (PGCertPH) specialising in Effective Practice, is principally aimed at professionals in healthcare, health services, public health, health policy-making, planning and research
positions and is of relevance to practitioners, researchers, planners and managers
of healthcare and disability services. Students will gain an understanding of the
science of epidemiology, the skills to critically appraise epidemiological studies
relevant to healthcare, health services and public health problems and the ability
to apply epidemiological evidence in health care decision-making, both at the level
of the individual patient and patient populations.
This programme is offered by the
School of Population Health, and is taught and assessed entirely by course work. Some courses
in this subject area are offered in a flexible learning format.
