The Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (PGCertHSc) specialising in Sports Medicine,
is aimed at general practitioners who wish to increase their expertise in treating
athletes in their practice. In addition, it can be a launching pad for further specialisation
in sports medicine which, with a rapidly expanding leisure industry, is increasingly
in demand. The programme is multi-disciplinary and divided into courses on sports
injuries, sports medicine, and practical clinical skills. Lecturers are chosen for
their expertise in their field and for their knowledge of treating sports people.
This specialisation is offered by the School of Population Health. Courses
