The Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education (PGCertClinEd) is a
multi-disciplinary postgraduate programme in clinical education. The goal of the
certificate is to provide the opportunity for clinical teachers to become
excellent educators and researchers in this field. The programme is of
particular relevance to doctors involved in delivering medical undergraduate or
specialist training programmes, clinical nurse educators, and other health
professionals with a role in education. This programme is offered by the
Centre for Medical and Health Sciences
Education.
Eligibility
Students wishing to enrol in this programme need to
have completed a relevant degree, or the requirements for a health professional
qualification and have at least two years relevant work experience, and be currently
engaged in clinical teaching or curriculum development in a health related discipline.

Content
This programme is taught
and assessed entirely by course work. Some courses in this subject area are
offered in a flexible learning format.
With the approval of the Head of the Centre for Medical and Health Sciences
Education up to 15 points may be selected from other relevant postgraduate
courses. Students new to the programme are required to enrol in, and complete,
the following courses.

Important information
Places on this programme are limited. Priority may be given to applications
received on or before the closing date of 8 December.
Once you start this programme you will need to enrol continuously (each semester)
until the programme is finished. If you need to take a break you must apply for
a suspension.
This programme has a total enrolment clause of 80 points. This is the maximum number
of points you can enrol in (including failed or withdrawn courses) towards this
programme.
