Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences Master of Public Health

The Master of Public Health programme is an internationally recognised public health qualification for students intending a career in disease prevention, surveillance, health promotion, epidemiology and other areas.

This programme is offered by the School of Population Health.

Eligibility

To be eligible to enter a 120 point MPH an applicant must have completed a PGDipPH (or equivalent qualification) with at least a B average. To be eligible to enter a 240 point MPH an applicant must have completed a relevant degree with at least a B average in their final year of study.

Points required: 120
Time to complete: Research masters - Within one year if enrolled full-time, within two years if enrolled part-time
Taught masters - Within one year if enrolled full-time, within four years if enrolled part-time
Start semester: One or two

Points required: 240
Time to complete: Research masters - Within two years if enrolled full-time, within four years if enrolled part-time
Taught masters - Within two years if enrolled full-time, within eight years if enrolled part-time
Start semester: One or two

Important information

Places on the taught programme are limited. Priority may be given to applications received on or before the closing date of 8 December.

Once you start this programme you will need to enrol continuously (each semester) until the programme is finished. If you need to take a break you must apply for a suspension.

This programme has a total enrolment clause of 160 points. This is the maximum number of points you can enrol in (including failed or withdrawn courses) towards this programme.
