Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences Master in Māori Health

Admission to this programme has been suspended for 2011, however many of the courses can be included in other programmes. Please contact us to discuss alternative options.

In order to be admitted to the Master of Māori Health (MMH) programme, a student needs to have completed the requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma in Māori Health (or its equivalent) with an average grade of B or higher.

Duration and points value

Points required: 120
Time to complete: Research masters - Within one year if enrolled full-time, within two years if enrolled part-time
Taught masters - Within one year if enrolled full-time, within four years in enrolled part-time
Start semester: One or two

Content

Students wishing to complete the MMH programme are required to enrol in, and complete, the following courses.

Research masters

  • MAORIHTH 796 - Thesis (120 Points)

Taught masters

  • MAORIHTH 792 - Dissertation (60 Points)
  • and
  • 60 further points from the courses listed in the Master of Health Sciences Schedule, including an Approved research methods course if such a course has not already been passed.

Important information

Once you start this programme you will need to enrol continuously (each semester) until the programme is finished. If you need to take a break you must apply for a suspension.

This programme has a total enrolment clause of 160 points. This is the maximum number of points you can enrol in (including failed or withdrawn courses) towards this programme.
