Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours)

The Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) is an intercalated research degree that is available to medical students who have completed at least the first three years of their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), and passed the courses for MBChB Part III with an average grade of B or higher.

Duration and points value

Points value: 120
Time to complete: Within one year if enrolled full-time, within two years if enrolled part-time
Start semester: One

Important information

  • Places on this programme are limited. Priority may be given to applications received on or before the closing date of 8 December.
  • Once you start this programme you will need to enrol continuously (each semester) until the programme is finished. If you need to take a break you must apply for a suspension.
  • This programme has a total enrolment clause of 160 points. This is the maximum number of points you can enrol in (including failed or withdrawn courses) towards this programme.
