Monthly PhD Student Morning Teas:
Once a month we get together for free biscuits, tea & coffee for a chat about
our PhD journeys with other PhD students. This opens up a chance to share your
challenges and triumphs with your fellow students and catch up with fellow
students and friends at the FMHS. All FMHS PhD students are welcome
to attend. Watch out for monthly emails advising the day and time
to come along. Bring a mug!
Seasonal Academic Style Morning Teas:
A couple of times during the year the FMHS-PGSA hosts morning teas where speakers are invited
to talk bout issues directly related to postgraduate students at the FMHS. For
example a past topic was "Career paths in academia, how the big guns got there".
Of course there is some free food and drink at the event. All postgraduate
students and staff welcome. Keep an eye out for FMHS-PGSA emails about the
academic morning teas for more information.

Autumn Challenge Cup- Thinking on your feet (Impromptu presentations)

|
11th May 2007

Departments got their teams together again for the triannual Challenge Cup. Each
member of a team took a turn at giving a brief talk about a slide they had never
seen before, while each team had to stick to their designated theme, no matter how
random the slide was. They were also judged on humour, originality and flow. We are
very grateful for the members of the city-PGSA Board who came to be judges to avoid
bias. In the end, Anatomy took the Cup home for the 2nd time in a row!
