Head of the Medical Programme
The Head of Medical Programme provides leadership of the medical curriculum
development and management, as well as leadership for the Medical Programme Directorate.
Also deals with issues requiring the approval of the Dean.
Assistant Dean (Student Affairs)
The Assistant Dean (Student Affairs) is available to students for confidential counselling
and support of personal issues impacting on academic progress.
Phase 1 Director
Implementation of curriculum and assessment strategy for Phase 1. (Overlapping Year
1 and MBChB 2 & 3). Phase 1 is the fundamentals of clinical practice. Any academic
or professional matter in relation to Phase 1 (Year 2 and 3).
Year 2 Academic Coordinator
Implementation of curriculum and assessment strategy for MBChB 2. Any academic or
professional matter in relation to Year 2 of the programme.
Phase 2 Director
Implementation of curriculum and assessment strategy for Phase 2 (MBChB 4 &
5). Phase 2 is clinical practice in context. Any academic or professional matter
in relation to Phase 2.
Year 4 Academic Coordinator
Any academic or professional matter in relation to Year 4 of the programme.
Phase 3 Director
Implementation of curriculum and assessment strategy for Phase 3 (MBChB 6). Phase
3 is preparation for the workforce. Any academic or professional matter in relation
to Phase 3.
Medical Programme Directorate Administrative Team
Programme Manager (Medical Programme)
Administrative issues relating to the medical programme. Clarification of existing
policies. Programme regulatory matters.
Student Administrative Assistant
Administration of student allocations to hospitals.
General housekeeping queries
(e.g. name badges).
Academic Systems Coordinator
Administration of student grades and progress.
Systems Architect
Information Officer
Departmental Secretary
Customer service and administrative support to the MPD team.
