Due to the large numbers of applications received each year, we are required to
keep to a strict timetable when allocating elective placements. The New Zealand
academic year runs from March to November in one year. Elective requests for
December and January of any given year will not be accepted or processed.

Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. No late
applications will be considered.
How to apply
Application forms and required documents must be submitted between January and
March in the year prior to the elective. All arrangements are to be made
directly with the Overseas Electives Coordinator, Faculty of Medical and Health
Sciences. No other member of the University or hospital staff has authority to
make these arrangements.
Please note: December and January is a vacation period in New
Zealand. Overseas students are strongly advised not to request elective
placements during this time, as placements are severely limited.
