The FMHS tracking project is a longitudinal investigation of the characteristics,
study and career patterns of FMHS students.
The database has been created by data entry of information sourced from questionnaires
completed by students of the BHSc, BNurs, BPharm and MBChB degree programmes at
The University of Auckland from 2006 onwards. These questionnaires are administered
at the beginning of students' entry level year, at the end of their exit level year
and complemented with follow up data gathered about graduates.
To ensure its ongoing usefulness and effectiveness the tracking project is administered
by a governance board made up of representatives from the FMHS schools, members
of the Centre for Medical and Health Sciences Education, a project administrator
and a database developer. Members of the board may be contacted for information
about the project.
FMHS staff members can obtain
anonymous data for research purposes with the approval
of the Tracking Project Governance Board. The use of the data is subject to requirements
set down by The University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee.
All publications using Tracking Project data must acknowledge it as a source of
data and should also allow authorship credit for key academic staff involved
in the development of questionnaires, the collection of data and the maintenance
of the ethical approval for the project. Potential users should contact the chair
of the Governance Board to discuss these requirements.
