The Centre for Child and Family Research is a multi-disciplinary research centre which aims
to:
- encourage and undertake high quality research relating to national policy issues
concerning children and families
- encourage the dissemination of and public debate on research involving children
and families
- conduct research addressing social policy goals
- develop research projects that provide empirical evidence to inform policy
- encourage and facilitate collaborative and multi-disciplinary research
- assist researchers to find advisers from appropriate University departments
- organise meetings, seminars and forums
- inform university and government departments of research that may be of interest
to them
- provide an umbrella for seeking research funding from places where a combined
approach is likely to be more successful
- establish links with both international and New Zealand research bodies for
cooperation
and sharing of research information.
